No two pieces are exactly alike. Each has been hand-made; using materials sourced from old family hoarded fabrics, vintage markets and charity shops. Some pieces cry out for the very finest silks or wools, and these may make use of designer deadstock.
The designs are inspired by periods of history, art movements or the nightlife of various cities over the last 40 years. Favourites include 1920s ‘robes de style’, the ‘Wiener Werkstätte‘ (1903-1932), and the home-made aesthetic of the London, Berlin and New York nightclubs of the 1980s. I sell at artisan fairs, selected shops and at pop-up days at home.
The brand is available in Bath in the wonderful Somer Store on Bartlett Street in Bath and as this month Bath celebrates the Jane Austen Festival, my Ghost dress, based on an original 1790s dress pattern, will be in the window!
We have an open house here for the St Werburgh’s Art Trail on October 3rd and 4th from 11-5. A few of my pieces and fabrics will be here to see and my sister, Sophy Thomas, will be showing her ceramics and portraits.
